New Year's Eve and Christmas in Sotogrande: What's On in 2026

As of 24 October 2026, no venue in Sotogrande has published its 2026 New Year's Eve plans. Going by last year, New Year's Eve here means gala dinners at the SO/ Sotogrande hotel followed by an after-midnight party at its IXO bar, while Gibraltar, about half an hour away, throws a free street party with fireworks in Casemates Square. Christmas is quieter: a craft fair, a Sunday Christmas market and the tree lighting in the marina. We'll swap every 2025 detail below for the 2026 one as soon as it's announced.

New Year's Eve: what 2025 looked like

For New Year's Eve 2025, SO/ Sotogrande offered four ways in, according to Sotogrande's own Christmas guide. All the prices below are 2025 prices, per person.

The hotel's 2025 booking page ran the Cortijo night from 20:00 into the early hours of 1 January. Note the catch on the cheapest option: the IXO party on its own still required a dinner booking at the hotel. As for clubs, Ágora opens outside summer only for special dates and hasn't announced a New Year's Eve party; Trocadero hasn't published one either. Both are to be announced, so ask us on WhatsApp; if either lists a party, it goes here first.

Christmas in the marina (2025 dates)

• Los Alcornocales artisan Christmas fair: Saturday 29 November 2025, on Ribera del Marlin in Sotogrande Marina.
• Christmas market: the Sunday market on Ribera del Marlin took a Christmas theme from 30 November to 14 December 2025.
• Tree lighting: Saturday 6 December 2025 at 19:00, at the Christmas tree on Ribera del Marlin.
• Nearby: the Hacienda Almoguera Christmas fair in Los Barrios, 29 and 30 November 2025, 11:00 to 18:00, €2 entry.

Gibraltar's New Year's Eve street party

If you'd rather be out than at a dinner table, Gibraltar's tourist board describes a street party with free live music and a fireworks display in Casemates Square, inside the old city walls. It's roughly 25 to 30 km from Sotogrande, and since 15 July 2026 the frontier has no routine checks. On New Year's Eve, though, book the ride home well in advance.

What's open between Christmas and New Year

Not much, honestly, and nobody publishes holiday timetables. Bahía Limón in Torreguadiaro was reported open until 6 December, so don't count on it after that. The Beach at La Reserva opens only its heated pool, at weekends from 11:00 to 18:00, from November until 13 December. Trocadero publishes Thursday to Monday hours but no Christmas timetable. Phone before you go anywhere that week.
