Torreguadiaro at Night: Chambao, Bahía Limón and the Beach by the Port

Ask people in Sotogrande where to go for a drink with music at sunset and the answer is usually the same: Torreguadiaro. It's a small beach village in the municipality of San Roque, right next to the port of Sotogrande, and its beach has the two venues that Sandbeds calls the area's nightlife references. Here's how an evening there works.

Where Torreguadiaro is

Torreguadiaro (postcode 11312) sits on the coast just beside the port of Sotogrande. It's a village in its own right, smaller and more local in feel than Sotogrande. Sandbeds describes the crowd at its beach bars as a mix of residents, holidaymakers and visitors from La Línea and Gibraltar, which tells you where people come from. It's a short drive from Sotogrande, but parking in the village gets difficult on summer evenings, so if you're drinking, take a taxi.

Chambao: sunset with a DJ

Chambao is the beach bar Sandbeds calls the liveliest in the area. The kitchen runs non-stop from 12:30 to midnight, with sardine espetos and sushi, cocktails and premium gin and tonics, hammocks and Balinese beds. In the afternoon DJs play to ease you into the evening, and at night there's live music and DJs. It opens for the season in April, and Sandbeds gives its usual season as May to October. The venue recommends booking for the evening.

Bahía Limón: a different night every day

Bahía Limón is on the same beach and works differently: each night has a theme. Sandbeds lists a summer week of circus dinner shows on Tuesdays, flamenco on Thursdays, a funk party on Fridays and live music at sunset at weekends. In 2026 it also ran 'Off Soto Serie' sessions with DJs from 23:00 until the early hours. It's the more affordable of the two (€€ in Sandbeds' relative scale) and, unusually, it stayed open until 6 December 2026, according to El Periódico de Sotogrande.

Il Soño: the quiet option

Torreguadiaro's third name in Sandbeds' 2026 ranking is Il Soño, a lounge and cocktail bar with soft lounge music. It's not a party venue; it's where you go when you want a cocktail by the sea and a conversation. Worth knowing as a calmer alternative, or a first stop before the music starts down the beach.

The village fiesta: Feria del Carmen

Every July Torreguadiaro holds its Feria del Carmen. In 2026 the local paper described five days of activities and tradition, with a closing day on Sunday 12 July. It's a village fair, not a club night, but if you're around that week it's the most local plan you'll find, and the beach bars are busier than ever. Nearby, Guadiaro held its fourth Holi colour party on Saturday 4 July 2026, with a DJ, at the town's fairground.

What about Underclub?

Older guides mention Underclub, a club on Avenida Mar del Sur in Torreguadiaro. The last news we found was a reopening weekend in December 2021, and its ticketing page currently shows no events. We can't confirm it's operating, so we're not sending anyone there. If it reopens with published dates, we'll add it.

An evening in Torreguadiaro

  • Around sunset: a bed or a table at Chambao while the DJ warms up.
  • Dinner: espetos at either venue, or pick Bahía Limón if it's flamenco Thursday or funk Friday.
  • After midnight: on Ágora's event nights, take a taxi to Sotogrande's nightclub at the Centro Comercial Mar y Sol.
  • Out of season: Bahía Limón is the one to check, open until 6 December in 2026.

When to go

The season in Torreguadiaro follows the beach. Chambao opens in April and Sandbeds gives May to October as the usual season for both venues, with July and August the busiest months because they coincide with the polo. Bahía Limón is the exception in 2026, open until 6 December according to the local paper. For the best atmosphere, a summer weekend at sunset; for an easier table, a weekday in June or September.

Booking

Chambao has its own online booking system and recommends reserving for the evening; Sandbeds warns that it fills up on summer weekends. Bahía Limón has no working website, and posts its plans on Instagram as @bahialimon. For either one, you can also message us on WhatsApp with the date and group size and we'll help you get a table, which saves chasing two venues separately.

A local crowd

Part of Torreguadiaro's appeal is that it doesn't feel like a resort. In July 2026, when Spain played, both Chambao and Bahía Limón were on the local paper's list of places to watch the match, alongside the pubs in the port. It's where people from Sotogrande, the surrounding villages and Gibraltar actually meet, which is exactly why the evenings work.

Getting there and back

Both venues are on Torreguadiaro beach, beside the port of Sotogrande, so if you're staying in Sotogrande it's a short trip. The catch is the evening: the village is small, the beach road gets busy in summer and parking runs out. If you're planning to drink, book a taxi there and back, or agree on a driver. Gibraltar is about 25 km from Sotogrande, which is why so many people come over for the evening.
