Bars in Sotogrande Marina and Port: Where to Have a Drink at Night
Updated:
The best-documented bars in Sotogrande's port are the Hairy Lemon, a British-style pub on the marina known for sport on TV, and Fresco Marina, on Ribera del Marlin by the port entrance. In July 2026 the local paper also listed Maloney's Irish Bar, La Pala and La Oficina Bar Deportivo among the places in Sotogrande showing the World Cup. Below is what we could check for each one, and what we couldn't.
How we checked
Port bars rarely publish their hours, and a lot of what's online about Sotogrande is years out of date (several guides still send you to Afterpolo, which closed after 2024). So our rule is simple: we only call a bar active in 2026 if a dated 2026 source mentions it. If the only mention we found is an undated guide, we say so.
Hairy Lemon
The Hairy Lemon is the name that comes up first. Sotogrande Guide places it in the port among the bars with the busiest nightlife, and a local tip on Airbnb describes it as an 'English' bar in the port, good for a Sunday roast and for watching sport live on TV. It was on El Periódico de Sotogrande's lists of places to watch Spain's World Cup matches in July 2026, which is our proof it was open this year. We didn't find published opening hours.
Fresco Marina
Fresco Marina is at Ribera del Marlin 20, according to the local paper. Ribera del Marlin is the stretch of the marina closest to the port entrance, with shops and restaurants at quay level and a large public car park underneath. In 2026 Fresco Marina showed the World Cup, put on live music at lunchtime (on Saturday 20 June, for example, from 12:30 with free entry) and opened an art exhibition on 5 September. It's a restaurant as much as a bar, facing the port.
Maloney's Irish Bar, La Pala and La Oficina
These three were on El Periódico de Sotogrande's lists of bars in Sotogrande showing the World Cup on 10 and 17 July 2026; the list for the final added Don Diego and Moncayo. That tells us they were open in summer 2026 and that they put the football on. What it doesn't tell us is where exactly each one is, and we haven't found a website or published hours for any of them, so check the location on a map before heading over. If you're after an Irish pub, Maloney's is the one; La Oficina's full name, Bar Deportivo, tells you it's a sports bar.
Ke and Midas: not confirmed for 2026
Older guides mention Ke Bar in the marina, recommended for sundowners, and Midas Bar Restaurant, just below the Club Marítimo hotel. We couldn't find a single 2026 mention of either, so we're not listing them as open. If you know they are, tell us and we'll update this guide.
Beyond the port: IXO at SO/ Sotogrande
If you want live music with your drink, the best-documented option isn't in the marina but at the SO/ Sotogrande hotel. Its tapas and cocktail bar, IXO, had live music in summer 2026: rumba on Fridays, flamenco on Saturdays and flamenco guitar on Sundays, according to Sotogrande's summer programme. It's a drive from the port, not a walk.

Two more for match nights: in July 2026 Chambao and Bahía Limón, on the beach in Torreguadiaro, were also showing the World Cup.
What time do the bars close?
We haven't found published closing times for any of the port bars, so we're not going to make one up. It varies by bar, by night and by season, and in winter some hours shrink. If you want to keep going past the bars, the place for that in Sotogrande is Ágora.
From the port to Ágora
Ágora is Sotogrande's only nightclub, in the Centro Comercial Mar y Sol, Avenida Arenilla 2. In summer it opens on weekends (its 2026 closing party ran from midnight to 6am) and out of season on special dates, the next being Halloween on 31 October. Plan how you'll get there from the port and back home afterwards before the night starts.

And if you'd rather have your drink by the sea than in the port, our guide to Gigi's Beach covers the beach bar on Paseo del Mar.
